Mr. Rennard – Returning for Year 7!
I moved to Asheville with my dog, Wally in July, 2019.

I have two daughters; Merriellyn is a social worker in Virginia, and has two children. Christie is an elementary school teacher in Memphis, with three children.
I had retired after 30 years of teaching grades K thru college, but felt called to teach again, this time at APCS. I attended college at AUC, Newbold, and graduated from Southern Missionary with a BA in English. Two years later I had earned an MA in English Education and an Endorsement in Reading from UTChattanooga. I got connected here when I learned that APCS was looking for a teacher’s aide for Ms. Belensky’s 3rd/4th grade classroomand, some one-on-one reading assistance, and was happy to be selected.
I wish every student could attend APCS! Each would not only receive a Christian-based education, but all the other subject areas being taught by a group of educators and administrators who are totally dedicated to helping students learn and become the best they can be.
When I’m not teaching I love to read, travel, and hike the abundant woodland trails in the area. I love all sports, and have coached several, most notably as a soccer coach and/or referee for 20+ years. I am blessed to be a teacher at APCS!
